THE QUINCENTENARY OF THE REFORMATION

2017 is the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther posting his 95 theses on the door of the castle chapel in the German town of Wittenberg – an event that has become known as the starting point of the Reformation.

The idea behind marking the anniversary of the Reformation in 2017 in Great Britain is to promote the understanding of the significance of the Reformation for British society, the church and identity and consciousness of the Lutheran heritage.  We are working with a wide variety of partners (see the "Partners" page under "About Us"), in other churches and beyond, including the German Embassy and a group of London churches under the banner "Still Reforming" who have organised an event per month, each hosted by churches of different traditions - see the events pages or contact us for a booklet about Still Reforming.

On this website and our Facebook page you can read more about the anniversary, explore all the interesting events in connection the quincentenary and learn more about Martin Luther and what drove him to what is now known as The Reformation.

Please explore the whole website, which we will be constantly updating with news, new information and events during 2017, and like our Facebook page to be kept up to date.
